In 2021 The Justice League will finally “Come Together”

Hold on to your Batarangs, adjust your Lantern ring and cue the bad ass remix of the classic Beetles tune Come Together. The Justice League Snyder Cut is on its way!

After 3 years of moaning, groaning, petitioning and hash-tagging (#releasethesnydercut) DC fans will finally get their wish Justice League the Snyder Cut will be released in 2021 by way of the new HBO streaming service HBO Max. This is right off the heels of a major acquisition of Warner Brothers by AT&T. The new deal includes a new venture with HBO and has set the stage for what looks to be a new breath of life into a dying universe. The DCEU has been striking out left and right with film flop after film flop. WB executives were a mess making shotgun decisions, making drastic and unnecessary changes which led to losing the faith of their fans. WB was about to give up on the DCEU and scrap all the future films, but AT&T seems to see things a different way. Since the fans were screaming for the Snyder cut, why not give the fans what the want? Something that WB seemed to NEVER consider. I mean, why listen to the fans? They are only the major supporters of the DC brand for decades.

The new Justice League film is said to be just that, new. I am told that it will be almost unrecognizable from the theatrical version which I am now referring to as the “Whedon Cut.” Tons of cut footage containing story arcs, action sequences and characters will be added back into the film. These characters are such as The Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Volko (Willem Dafoe’s character from Aquaman) an extended role from Amber Heard’s Mera and of course Darkseid. HBO Max have given Snyder a post-production budget of $20million to finish the CGI and effects that were not done with the final cut of the film. They will also show the entire film which is said to be up to 4 hours long, so they might break it up into 2 or 4 parts. Either way the fans are in for a nice plethora of superhero action. Being a fan of Snyder and a proud participant in the #releasethesnydercut movement, I couldn’t be more thrilled. I think that Zack Snyder got a raw deal from WB after he deliver exactly what he was asked to do in an entire universe laid out film by film, in chronological order complete with storyboards drawn by the great Jim Lee himself. It will be great if he to see him go out with a bang and not a crash & burn. Stay tuned as more details unfold.
